Carole Mikita Reporting A young man who grew up in Preston, Idaho has achieved his dream of dancing on Broadway. He's here now with the National Touring Company of 'Movin' Out.'
The University of Utah also has claims on helping him develop his talents.
Pretty amazing moves for an Idaho farm boy, who grew up milking cows.
"Some of my earliest memories were of dance, just like my desire to dance, I think because the opportunities in Idaho were so few."
Now Eddy Bowles is center stage in the national tour of 'Movin' Out.' He says he learned his technique on a ballet scholarship to the University of Utah.
Troy 'Eddy' Bowles: "It's such an amazing program. And the teachers there. That's where I consider most of my training to come from."
The dancers have the basic ballet class twice a week and pick-up rehearsals almost every day.
Renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp created the demanding, rigorous show to Billy Joel's music. The dancers say she allows them a great deal of freedom.
Eddy: "She's wonderful to allow dancers to kind of make each role their own, each person who even does the same role gets to make it individual."
For Eddy Bowles, who is putting his own individual stamp on his role, it's simply great to be back where the dream started.
'Movin' Out' performances continue at the Capitol Theatre through Sunday, June 25th.
