New shuttle bus service, Reno to Douglas County

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A new shuttle bus service will connect riders between Reno, Carson City and the Carson Valley beginning Monday.

The Nevada Department of Transportation provided Sacramento-based Amador State Lines with more than $365,000 in federal funds to help run the service called Carson Valley Airporter.

NDOT transit manager Michelle Gardner told the Nevada Appeal (http://tinyurl.com/p2tb2vm) Amador is providing $143,000 in matching funds.

Rides cost $16 each way between Reno and Carson City. The one-way fare from Reno to Minden-Gardnerville is $24.

Shuttles run four times daily with stops at Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the National Bowling Stadium.

Douglas County stops include the Gardnerville Community Center, Carson Valley Inn and Minden Holiday Inn.

In Carson City, it stops at the Courtyard Marriott near Fandango Casino and the transit center near the Carson Nugget.
