MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho man who helped cover up the killing of a Washington state woman and remained silent for years has been sentenced to seven years in prison. David Stone of Moscow must serve three years before becoming eligible for parole. Stone agreed to a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to failure to notify authorities of a death in exchange for testifying against 53-year-old Charles Capone.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Three candidates running to be Idaho's governor faced off for the last time before Tuesday's general election. Gov. Butch Otter, Democratic candidate A.J. Balukoff and Libertarian candidate John Bujak agreed on little last night at the debate in Boise. They often interrupted the moderator and debate panel to respond to zingers thrown out by their opponents while discussing education, the economy and a private-prison settlement.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two politically experienced Democrats are hoping to oust Idaho's U.S. House Republicans come Tuesday, but both face an uphill battle. Longtime state Rep. Shirley Ringo is up against two-term Congressman Raul Labrador in Idaho's 1st Congressional District. Congressman Mike Simpson is seeking a ninth term running against Democratic challenger Richard Stallings for the 2nd District seat from 1985 to 1993. Idaho's House incumbents have raised more campaign funds than their opponents.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Gov. Matt Mead says congressional action may offer Wyoming its best chance at regaining state management of wolves. A federal judge last month stripped Wyoming of wolf management authority and returned wolves to federal protections under the Endangered Species Act.
