REXBURG, Idaho — Sunday afternoon, a message appeared on a social media site threatening Brigham Young University-Idaho with a shooting on Monday.

According to a BYU-Idaho spokesperson, the individual who made the threat has been identified and is in police custody.

There is currently no threat and the situation is under control.

"BYU-Idaho takes threats like these very seriously. An extensive plan is in place for all types of emergencies, including shootings," BYU-Idaho said.

The university was ready to activate that plan in this situation if it had been necessary.
