PROVO, Utah (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Chris Cannon has missed a deadline to file a campaign finance report to the Federal Election Commission.
The deadline to file how much money he has raised and spent was Monday. Cannon's campaign manager, Ryan Frandsen, says there was confusion about the date the reports were due. He says the reports will be filed Thursday.
Cannon's Republican challengers in the 3rd Congressional District say Cannon's failure to comply with federal law is proof that he is ineffective.
Cannon will be fined for not filing his report on time. The state Republican Party Convention is scheduled for May 10.
