WOW TOWN — A 12-year-old boy who was looking for a hobby has made a mind-blowing video consisting solely of pingpong ball tricks.
Known as UntoldAnimations and according to Reddit, the boy started doing tricks with pingpong balls because he thought he should “get myself a hobby or be part of a generation that's lost to gaming. I personally don't find first person shooters fun” — a refreshing take on life for any young boy from any developed country. (UntoldAnimations said on Reddit he is from Ireland.)
The shots he makes into regular drinking glasses and cups are incredible. He bounces the balls off several angles to make shots, uses up to five balls in several uncut series of tricks and varies the distance and spaces where he performs his shots.
But the really “wow” shots start when the boy starts using pingpong balls to flip cups into and out of positions to allow each ball find its desired destination.
While doing tricks with balls entertaining to watch, it may seem like a huge waste of time to create. But if you think about it, the boy is truly developing real-world skills including patience, follow-through with goals, spatial reasoning and a hands-on understanding of physics, to name a few.
UntoldAnimations has made another ball-trick video, and he said on Reddit he’s planning on making more.
