Brooke Walker ReportingJune is a popular month for weddings, and today one Utah couple took the plunge--literally-- in a rather unusual wedding ceremony.

What better way to seal your wedding vows than with a kiss nearly 14,000 feet in the air.

"This just is the perfect scenario for who we are."

"It just seemed right."

Couple Leaps Into Marriage Vows

Lance Bates is a sky diving instructor who has completed more than 2-thousand jumps. Five years ago, he shared that passion with Heather Robbins. And today, they took the jump of their lives.

Heather Robbins/ Sky Diving Bride: "Going to a church or a hall or even to a courthouse would seem abnormal."

The wedding began somewhat traditionally, with a procession that included the judge, a best man and a maid of honor. But when it came to a location, the sky really was the limit.

The couple exchanged vows on the plane, then exchanged rings mid-air. It was made official on the ground.

"We're taking a double leap of faith. We're getting married and jumping out of an airplane together. Very nice."

Now with the ceremony behind them, Lance and Heather say they are more than ready to dive into married life.

The ceremony was the first of its kind and will be featured on an upcoming segment of the television series "Wild Weddings."
