AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A school district says a 13-year-old boy who was hospitalized after getting an electrical shock at a school football field in Michigan has died.
In a statement Friday, Lincoln Consolidated Schools announced the death of Lincoln Middle School student Christian Lorinczy. He was a spectator Tuesday night and was shocked while leaning against a fence on a metal ramp to the bleachers.
The cause is under investigation. State police Sgt. Chris Pascoe tells The Ann Arbor News detectives are awaiting autopsy results.
A woman also was shocked when she tried to help him. She was treated at the scene.
The game was at Lincoln High School in Washtenaw County's Augusta Township, about 30 miles southwest of Detroit. The district says students will be able to get counseling through the schools.
