SALT LAKE CITY — An early-morning accident serves as a reminder of the dangers of drunk driving, UHP said.

According to UHP Sgt. Chamberlain Neff, a man was driving impaired when he hit a barrier on a ramp between I-80 westbound and I-15 northbound at about 1:30 a.m.

Neff said the man actually was lucky to have crashed where he did.

“That’s a lot better hitting that crash cushion than hitting a concrete wall, or more importantly another person out on the road,” Neff said.

The man was not injured in the crash.

He was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of DUI.
