WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans are signaling that they plan to fight President Barack Obama's next nominee for attorney general. Eric Holder is stepping aside after six years. Speaking at the White House, the president said Holder has done a "superb" job and credited him for driving down both the nation's crime and incarceration rates, which hasn't happened together in decades. Holder will serve until his replacement is confirmed.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A law enforcement official says he sent the NFL the video of former Baltimore Ravens star Ray Rice knocking out his finance in a casino elevator. The official tells The AP he sent the tape in April to the head of league security with a note that read "Ray Rice elevator video. You have to see it. It's terrible." The official says he received a voice mail confirmation from a woman who agreed with the note. Security chief Jeffrey Miller denies he received the tape.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) —Apple has released a new update it says will repair the problems caused by its iPhone software, The update was released Wednesday. Analysts say a glitch in the software left some users of the new iPhones unable to make calls. Apple has apologized and says it's working non-stop to fix any problems.

BAIKONUR, Kazakhstan (AP) — U.S. space veteran Barry Wilmore is part of a three-member crew that has arrived at the International Space Station. They got there about six hours after launch from Russia's manned space facility in Kazakhstan. The new crew is beginning a planned six-month deployment on the ISS, joining three others already on board.

NEW YORK (AP) — Derek Jeter's last game in pinstripes at Yankee Stadium has ended with a flourish. The retiring captain was not only given a standing ovation, his game-winning single in the ninth gave the Yankees a 6-5 win over Baltimore. Jeter's 20 seasons include 1,391 home games.
