SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Some parents and students at South Jordan's Bingham High School say school administrators were too strict with a dress code at a homecoming dance on Saturday. One parent says his 17-year-old daughter and others complied with the dress code, but were still turned away. Principal Chris Richards-Khong told The Salt Lake Tribune that students were warned about the policy.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — State officials say a proposed $1.5 billion clean energy storage site in rural Utah would be an economic boon to the state and could potentially spur other similar projects. The storage facility would be in Millard County near the small city of Delta. It would be a lynchpin in $8 billion project sending wind-generated electricity to Southern California.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former Utah Lt. Governor has been formally nominated to take over a polygamous trust that holds more than $100 million in homes and property in Warren Jeffs' community on the Utah-Arizona border. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Val Oveson was recommended by attorneys general in Utah and Arizona to replace Bruce Wisan, who was recently charged with patronizing a prostitute.
