Junior college student arrested on weapon charge

ELLISVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Police say a Jones County Junior College student has been arrested on a charge of possession of a weapon on the Ellisville campus.

The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/1wLjcR9 ) 18-year-old Anferne K. Jones was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Jones County Adult Detention Center.

College officials say campus police worked with Ellisville police to make the arrest.

Police did not identify the type of weapon Jones allegedly possessed.

Bond was set at $5,000. It was unclear whether Jones has an attorney.
