TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Jonathan Marchessault scored two goals in the third period, leading the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-2 victory against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night in the preseason opener for both teams.

Filip Forsberg and Craig Smith netted second-period goals to give the Predators a 2-1 lead. In between, Nikita Kucherov scored for the Lightning.

Marchessault, who also had an assist, tied it 8:35 into the third and struck again with five minutes to go. Mark Barberio beat goalie Marek Mazanec for the deciding goal at 13:49.

Vladislav Namestnikov had three assists for Tampa Bay.

The second period was halted with 26.9 seconds left when veteran linesman Tim Nowak was injured. He didn't return.

Carter Hutton stopped 19 of 20 shots in 32 minutes for Nashville. Mazanec finished with 12 saves.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 28 saves in going the distance for Tampa Bay.
