Fresno State gets first win, tops S. Utah 56-16

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Fresno State spread the wealth, with three quarterbacks throwing touchdown passes to four receivers while three backs ran for touchdowns as the Bulldogs stormed past Southern Utah, 56-16, en route to their first win Saturday night.

Brian Burrell threwing a pair of first-half TD passes, to Chad Olson and Delvon Hardaway. Brandon Cornette flipped a 10-yard pass to J Harper in the first quarter and Zack Greenlee threw an 81-yard strike to Da'Mari Scott in the fourth.

Marteze Waller, Josh Quezada and T.J. Thomas each ran for touchdowns as Fresno State (1-3) piled up 389 yards rushing.

Southern Utah (0-4) took an early lead a 20-yard Trevor McGirr field goal and again on Ammon Olsen's touchdown pass to Mitch Jessop.

Minutes later Olsen was picked off by Kyrie Wilson, who returned it 23 yards for a touchdown that sparked a string of five straight Fresno State touchdowns.
