EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State University says it's joining a White House campaign to help fight campus sexual assault.
The East Lansing university says the effort unveiled Friday by the Obama administration called "It's On Us" complements the school's "No Excuse for Sexual Assault" campaign launched last year. Michigan State says the federal effort focuses on bystander intervention and includes communicating directly with student groups on campus.
University of Michigan says its Central Student Government also is working with the program, including promoting its efforts with students.
The U.S. Education Department has revealed a list of dozens of colleges under investigation for the way they handle sexual abuse allegations. Michigan State and University of Michigan were among them.
The government has emphasized the list was about investigations, not judgments.
