RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Reno man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting his wife after ramming her minivan off a highway in July 2012.
The sentence was imposed this week in Washoe County District Court on 31-year-old Jeffrey Rodriguez, who in May was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder in the death of his 32-year-old wife, Korinda Rodriguez.
KOLO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1oEiGPC ) he won't be eligible for parole until he has served at least 30 years in prison.
Prosecutors say after an argument, Jeffrey Rodriguez chased his wife down on U.S. 395 north of Reno while both vehicles were traveling about 75 mph and crashed his car into her minivan, causing it to skid off the roadway.
He then shot her three times and she died at the scene.
