ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have put cornerback Bill Bentley on injured reserve after a knee injury in Monday night's 35-14 win over the New York Giants.

The team says Bentley has an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Detroit's secondary played fine in the season opener but it's already a bit thin after losing Bentley. Safety James Ihedigbo was inactive for the game — he's been dealing with knee and neck injuries.

Bentley is in his third NFL season. He started five games last season for Detroit.
