NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities have identified a 20-year-old woman who died after being shot in a car in North Las Vegas.

Clark County coroner's officials say North Las Vegas resident Andrea Lafon died after the shooting that happened a little after 7 p.m. Friday on Small Mountain Avenue. That's near Tropical Parkway and Losee Road.

Investigators say Lafon was in the car with a friend when they met up with a group of people on foot and a fight ensued.

Authorities say one person pulled out a gun and shot into the vehicle before fleeing.

Lafon was taken to University Medical Center and later died.

Police say they don't think the incident is a random act of violence.
