WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — The Wake Forest Law Teen Court Academy is hosting law and high school students in an inaugural session designed to help those in attendance handle themselves in court.
The academy's training session is scheduled for Saturday at the Wake Forest School of Law. It begins at 10 a.m. at the Worrell Professional Center.
Teen Court provides teens ages 16 and younger a way to answer for first-time offenses while still keeping their record clean. It also trains law and high school students to act as attorneys in these cases.
By providing training, the Teen Court Academy aims to prepare students to be effective representatives in real court situations. Students who attend the session will receive instruction from Forsyth County prosecutors Matt Breeding and Mike Silver.
