HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — An official says that an Air Force of Zimbabwe trainer aircraft has crashed, killing two officers as the country prepares to host an air show involving stuntmen from across the world.
Air Force of Zimbabwe spokesman Simon Matingwina said Friday the two died on the spot, but declined to name them.
He said the SF260 trainer nosedived at a settlement on the outskirts of the capital, Harare, on Thursday. He said the cause of the crash is being investigated.
The Big African Air Show will open on Sept. 7 with Zimbabwe's air force.
