Prosecutors say the two took bribes, gifts and trips from a vitamin executive who wanted a product promoted. They face decades behind bars when sentenced in January.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department says it will investigate practices by the Ferguson, Missouri, Police Department. The review comes in addition to a probe of last month's shooting of an unarmed black 18-year-old by a white police officer. The review will include a look at use of force, searches, arrests and treatment of inmates.
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Police department is launching a pilot program to test 60 cameras worn by officers. Police Commissioner William Bratton predicts that the cameras will soon become as commonplace as police radios and bulletproof vests. Officers will be asked to volunteer to wear one of two versions, one work behind the ear, the other clipped to the front of the uniform.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A doctor who was infected with Ebola while working in Liberia is being flown to a Nebraska hospital for treatment. He's the third American aid worker infected by the Ebola. The first two have recovered.
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — A deadly albino cobra that ran loose for days in a Southern California neighborhood has been captured.
