LAS VEGAS (AP) — A mixed martial arts fighter known as War Machine is due to face a Las Vegas judge on felony charges that he badly injured his porn star ex-girlfriend before fleeing to California last month. The man born Jonathan Koppenhaver is scheduled for arraignment today on charges in the Aug. 8 attack on adult film actress Christy Mack and her male friend at a Las Vegas home. Police say Mack was treated for extensive facial bruises, fractures and lost teeth.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas city councilmembers are set to decide today whether to move forward on a funding proposal for a downtown professional soccer stadium. Baltimore-based Cordish Companies and its local partner, Findlay Sports and Entertainment Group, are proposing a 24,000-seat, partially covered stadium that would cost $200 million. The cost of acquiring a Major League Soccer franchise is estimated at $100 million.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada lieutenant governor hopefuls Lucy Flores and Mark Hutchison are set to square off in a debate in Las Vegas this morning at Dona Maria Tamales restaurant. Democrat Flores has garnered national press coverage after leaving behind life in a gang, earning a law degree and winning a state assembly seat. Republican Hutchison is a lawyer and state senator who enjoys the support of popular Gov. Brian Sandoval.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada voter rolls have about 6,000 more registered nonpartisan voters compared with a month earlier. Democrats make up 40 percent of the active voter list, while Republicans comprise 35 percent and nonpartisans make up 19 percent. The rest are registered with Libertarian, Independent American or other parties.
