MANILA, Utah (AP) — Crews are searching for a 69-year-old fisherman from Riverton who fell out of a motorboat at Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Daggett County officials say they were informed about 4 p.m. yesterday that the small boat had capsized. A 62-year-old woman got out of the water, but her boyfriend, Charles Darrell Thomas, is missing.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two Utah women dedicated to pushing back against the objectification of women say Carl's Jr. has gone too far with its long-running line of TV ads featuring women in bikinis eating the company's burgers in seductive poses. Twin sisters Lindsay and Lexie Kite say the ads seem to be sexually objectifying the women in them more each year. They are asking people to boycott Carl's Jr.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City police say they arrested a 69-year-old man who hurled his shoe at an officer during an interview. Authorities say the incident happened about 2:30 a.m. yesterday. Police say a security guard was trying to determine whether Charles Welch should be allowed to enter the apartment complex when Welch assaulted him and another tenant. Officers say Welch threw a shoe at the officer's torso.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Classes are in session at a new University of Utah campus in South Korea. KUTV-TV reports University of Utah President David Pershing attended a ceremony yesterday celebrating the new site at the Incheon Global Campus in Songdo. The campus offers undergraduate degrees in social work, communication and psychology, and a graduate degree in public health.
