WANSHIP, Summit County — Search and rescue crews are looking for a 20-year-old man in the area east of Rockport Reservoir Monday.
Halden Efren’s friends last saw him on Sunday at 10 a.m. in Rockport State Park before he walked away from their campsite following a verbal argument with a woman, police said. Efren’s friends thought he was leaving to cool off, but later reported him missing.
Efren is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a red T-shirt, gray shorts, a baseball cap with a Chicago Bulls logo, sandals and a backpack when he left, according to police.
Police said Efren is from Micronesia and does not speak English. He has only been in the U.S. for a month and does not have a passport or any money with him.
About 20 search and rescue members and a Department of Public Safety helicopter are searching for Efren, according to police.
Anyone who has seen Efren or may have picked him up is asked to contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at 435-615-3600.
