ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Tarik Cohen and Kwashaun Quick each scored two touchdowns and North Carolina A&T defeated Alabama A&M 47-13 in the MEAC/SWAC challenge on Sunday.
Cohen had 161 yards rushing and Quick added 94 as the Aggies parlayed big scoring plays into a 38-6 halftime lead that gave the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference its eighth victory over the Southwest Athletic Conference in the 10-year history of the game.
Four of the Aggies' five first-half touchdowns covered 26 yards or more.
After Alabama A&M closed to 7-6 with 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter on Cesar Diaz Ramon's second field goal, Tony McRae took the ensuing kickoff 95 yards to start a run of 38 unanswered Aggie points.
Quick had a 59-yard touchdown run and Cohen an 80-yarder in North Carolina A&T's 24-point second quarter.
Marquell Cartwright added a third-quarter touchdown run for North Carolina A&T.
Alabama A&M's lone touchdown was Brandon Wells' 5-yard pass to Jonathan Dorsey pass with 12:29 remaining.
