BAGHDAD (AP) — Separate attacks in several Iraqi cities, including Baghdad, have killed at least 58 people and wounded dozens in Shiite-majority areas. In one attack today in Baghdad, a suicide bomber blew up an explosives-laden vest among Shiite worshippers leaving a mosque after noon prayers.
GENEVA (AP) — According to the United Nations, Islamic State fighters have killed up to 670 prisoners in Mosul and committed other horrific abuses in Iraq that amount to crimes against humanity. The U.N.'s top human rights official says other violations include slavery, sexual abuse and destruction of places of religious and cultural significance.
STOCKHOLM (AP) — Norway's prime minister and other politicians have joined Muslim leaders and thousands of other people for a demonstration in Oslo against radical Islamists. The aim of the protest is to show a united front against Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq and a small group of sympathizers in Norway.
FORT LEE, Va. (AP) — Officials say a standoff at Fort Lee, Virginia, has ended with a soldier fatally shooting herself. She's said to have thrown objects and barricaded herself in a building that houses the Army's Combined Arms Support Command. About 1,100 people were inside, but no one else was hurt.
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Tropical Storm Cristobal is blamed for at least two deaths and for flooded communities on Caribbean islands. Flight operations were suspended at the main airport in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Some areas have seen a foot of rain since Friday. Forecasters say Cristobal could become a hurricane on Wednesday as it moves over open waters. It's expected to curve away from the U.S. East Coast.
