SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa — Lillian Weber is 99 years old, but she hasn’t slowed down her efforts to help others.
She sews one dress every day to send to little girls in Africa, according to TV news station WQAD in Quad Cities, Iowa. So far, she has made more than 840 dresses in two years.
Lillian will turn 100 on May 6, when she is aiming to finish her 1,000th dress.
“She personalizes them all,” Weber’s daughter, Linda Purcell, told WQAD. “It’s not like good enough that she makes the dresses, she has to put something on the front to make it look special, to give it her touch.”
All of the dresses are donated through Little Dresses for Africa, an organization that delivers dresses made out of pillowcases to orphanages, churches and schools, according to its website.
