EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a woman who died last month in a head-on crash that also killed a teenager had a blood alcohol content that was nearly twice the legal limit.
Utah County deputies released toxicology test results Monday for Jennifer Ashley Taft Bailey, who died in Eagle Mountain July 24. They say her blood alcohol content was 0.15, well above the legal limit of 0.08.
Deputies say 28-year-old Taft Bailey was driving eastbound on State Route 73 when her Ford Fusion drifted over the median and slammed into a westbound Chevy Cruze.
Deputies say 15-year-old Chevy passenger Katherine Hancock died instantly. Her father and two young brothers were injured.
Taft Bailey was pronounced dead at a Provo hospital.
Deputies say an open container of alcohol was found in Taft Bailey's car.
