SPA, Belgium (AP) — British driver Max Chilton has been reinstated to drive for Marussia at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, just a day after he was replaced by American Alexander Rossi.

Marussia announced on Thursday that Rossi was taking Chilton's seat at Spa because of ongoing contractual problems.

But on Friday morning race stewards accepted a request from Marussia to change its nominated driver back to Chilton.

However, Rossi was set to drive in Friday's first practice session instead of Chilton, who was expected to be back behind the wheel for the second practice session in the afternoon.
