FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Lawyers for the family of the Missouri teen fatally shot by a suburban St. Louis police officer say the relatives of Michael Brown were blindsided by allegations he was suspected of stealing a box of cigars. Police in Ferguson released a store video that attorney Daryl Parks says appears to be Brown. But Parks says that still doesn't justify the shooting. Police Chief Thomas Jackson says the officer didn't know didn't know about the store incident and stopped Brown and a companion for walking in the street.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says his Russian counterpart -- Sergei Shoygu -- has "guaranteed" that no Russian troops are involved in the transport of humanitarian relief supplies to eastern Ukraine. The convoy of 250 trucks is said to contain humanitarian supplies. Kiev has said the shipment is a cover for intervention in eastern Ukraine, where pro-Russian separatists have been battling government forces.

MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) —The international charity Doctors Without Borders says Ebola has killed more than 1,100 people in West Africa and the outbreak could last another six months. According the World Health Organization, Liberia has recorded more than 413 Ebola deaths, more than any of the affected countries.

BOSTON (AP) — Airport officials say further restrictions for electronic cigarettes on planes should be considered. The head of aviation at the Massachusetts Port Authority, which operates Boston's Logan International Airport, says one of the devices apparently started a small fire that forced passengers to briefly evacuate a plane last weekend. It was packed in checked baggage and burned a small hole in the bag.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A tanker truck explosion and fire in middle Tennessee that killed one person today has forced the closure of the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 until Monday. The back end of a trailer carrying unleaded gasoline hit a vertical column supporting a bridge.
