BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Federal investigators say they found no evidence of mechanical malfunctions in an experimental airplane before a 2012 crash that killed Micron CEO Steve Appleton. The NTSB also says Appleton didn't take specialized training before crashing while taking off from the airport in Boise, where Micron is based. The report doesn't say what caused the crash that killed the head of the memory chip company.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho work group says the state should expand its Medicaid eligibility, but committee members worry that their recommendation will be ignored by both the governor and legislators. The 15-member group voted yesterday to submit their recommendation to Gov. Butch Otter.

CHUBBUCK, Idaho (AP) — Chubbuck Police Chief Randy Severe says investigators are giving prosecutors their report on the fatal shooting of a 5-year-old girl by another 5-year-old. Severe told the Idaho State Journal that the report hasn't been made public.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A woman convicted of setting fire to her southeast Boise home with her three children inside has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. KTVB-TV reports that Jodi Bassett must serve three years before becoming eligible for parole. Court records say the children were able to escape unharmed.
