BOSTON (AP) — The Red Sox recalled right-hander Alex Wilson before Thursday's game against Houston and optioned right-hander Anthony Ranaudo to Triple-A Pawtucket.

The 27-year old Wilson is up with the Red Sox for the fifth time this season. He's made three relief appearances, allowing two runs in 5 1-3 innings.

The 24-year old Ranaudo (2-0) was the winning pitcher in Boston's 5-4 victory at Cincinnati on Wednesday. He's won both of his starts with the Red Sox.
