This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Mother Teresa, a great humanitarian, once said, "Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person."

It's true that you can't underestimate the power of a smile. Dr. Peter E. Paulos understands this idea and is in the business of improving a person's smile with his orthodontic practice in Taylorsville.

Dr. Paulos offers several different options for braces including clear brackets and Invisalign, which are computer-generated aligners that are nearly invisible. Consultations are complimentary and include an x-ray and photos.

One of the interesting trends Dr. Paulos has noticed today is that braces are no longer just for children. He says around 30 percent of orthodontic patients are adults. A portion of Dr. Paulos' patients are parents of former patients who put their children through braces and are now taking a turn to improve their own smile.

Six years ago, Dr. Paulos built a brand new office in Taylorsville and upgraded all of his equipment. He also made the decision to go digital so everything is done on the computer. Dr. Paulos will soon open a second office in the Coalville area and plans to invite another orthodontist to join his practice to help run both offices.

Interest in orthodontics grew for Dr. Paulos after he spent two years providing public health services in Alaska. He experienced an incredible surge of elation after taking someone's braces off and seeing how pleased they were with an improved smile. In his career, he has treated over 10,000 patients. He tries to consider every patient as he would his own children and advise them accordingly.

Dr. Paulos enjoys taking care of people and hopes to continue his orthodontic practice for years to come.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
