NEW YORK (AP) — D.C. United forward Eddie Johnson was suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Soccer on Wednesday for violent conduct toward Real Salt Lake defender Carlos Salcedo.

Johnson kicked the ball at Salcedo's back while the Salt Lake player was on the ground after a whistle. Johnson received a yellow card during the game.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee also suspended Montreal midfielder Calum Mallace one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for violating its policy on entering field of play and leaving bench and technical area in the Impact's 2-1 loss at Philadelphia on Saturday night.
