LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Three firefighters are recovering from injuries suffered while fighting a wildfire along the Snake River in Idaho. The most seriously injured firefighter received a cut on his leg from a chain saw, requiring stiches. About 450 firefighters plus aircraft are battling the blaze bordered by the Snake and Salmon rivers.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A new survey from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis finds that Idaho residents have among the lowest personal incomes in the nation. Idahoans also spend a much larger percentage of their income than most to cover the basic essentials of food, housing, health care and gasoline or other energy goods.
POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Post Falls police say a 14-year-old boy attacked a pet dog, injuring it so severely that veterinarians had to euthanize the animal. Police say the boy stabbed the dog and left him in an irrigation ditch to die. Police have charged the boy with cruelty to animals. He is being held in Kootenai County juvenile correctional facility and his bond will be set Monday.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Caldwell Police were called to a shopping center parking lot this week when a man spotted a six-foot-long snake slither under his vehicle and into the engine compartment. Police were able to pull the boa constrictor out of the vehicle without harming it. It's not known how the snake got into the parking lot. Police say they turned the snake over to a man willing to take care of it.
