PARK CITY — Park City is becoming a summer destination with the growing popularity of the Deer Valley Music Festival.
Thousands of people are flocking to hear performances at the Deer Valley music Festival in the mountains of Park City this summer.
“Summer’s really becoming a showcase for Park City,” said Carey Cusimano, vice president of development for the Deer Valley Music Festival. “A lot of people know Park City for the winter and the mountains, but it’s becoming more of a destination location for summering and vacationing in the mountains.”
Park City and the music festival offer tourists and residents alike a unique opportunity to experience a close-to-home adventure.
“It’s great for local businesses,” said Melia Tourangeau, president of the Utah Symphony and Opera. “It’s great for local businesses, it’s great for the restaurant industry and the lodging up here.”
As Park City continues to boom into a summer vacation destination, the festival, which already sold out several nights of concerts this season, will continue to grow, and officials say they expect it to surpass the Sundance Film Festival in the next few years.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will headline Friday night's performance with the symphony. Tickets can be purchased at Deer Valley Music Festival's website.
