LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Tiger Woods played nine holes of a practice round today at the PGA Championship and pronounced himself ready to go for tomorrow's opening round. The four-time winner appeared without pain just three days after pulling out of the final round of the Bridgestone Invitational due to a back problem.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Defending PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner goes into the opening round of the final major of the year tomorrow suffering from a sore neck. The 37-year old says it is caused by a degenerative arthritic condition.

CHICAGO (AP) — Adam Rosales hit two home runs including one off of White Sox ace Chris Sale to spark Texas to a 3-1 win. Sale's record dropped to 10-2 despite giving up those two runs on just three hits over six innings.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Seth Smith's home run of more than 400 feet in the top of the 10th inning gave San Diego a 5-4 win over Minnesota. Smith had a pair of RBIs to help the Padres earn a split of the four-game series.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins have activated running back Knowshon (NOH'-shahn) Moreno. He missed the first 12 days of training camp recovering from knee surgery. Moreno signed a $3.275 million, one-year contract in March after five seasons with the Denver Broncos.
