NEW YORK (AP) — Some analysts say tensions between Russia and Ukraine are offsetting positive economic signs. That's one of the factors cited for a dip in stock prices. The Dow was down as much as 200 points during the day and closed 139 points down. Moscow's support of separatists and sanctions imposed by the West have troubled some investors for months.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The United Nations Security Council is warning that the Islamic State extremist group may be held accountable for crimes against humanity for its systematic persecution of minorities in Iraq. The council strongly condemned the radical group for attacking and killing minorities including Christians. The extremists control large swaths of Syria and Iraq.

NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities in New York say none of the 14 injuries in a Times Square crash involving two double-decker tour buses is life-threatening. The accident happened at 47th Street and Seventh Avenue, an area packed with tourists near the TKTS discount Broadway ticket booth. Witnesses said a Gray Line tour bus rolled into the area at a high speed and collided with the other bus.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — The cease-fire in Gaza is holding and outlines of a solution for the conflict between Israel and Hamas are emerging from indirect talks underway in Cairo. Norway is organizing a donor conference and Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas aims to oversee rebuilding and reassert his authority in the territory, lost to Hamas in 2007.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man convicted of killing a 3-month-old boy by tossing the infant out of a moving vehicle has been sentenced to life in prison. A jury in Tampa convicted Richard McTear last week of charges including first-degree murder. Police say McTear attacked his ex-girlfriend, took off with her son and then threw the baby out of a car window on a major highway.
