SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two wild horses have died in a roundup of mustangs in Utah conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. BLM spokeswoman Lisa Reid says a yearling filly died instantly after apparently charging into a side panel of a corral and breaking its neck. She told The Salt Lake Tribune the agency had to euthanize a 7-year-old mare with a severely deformed leg and protruding hip form a previous fracture. Both deaths occurred Wednesday during the BLM's Blawn Wash gather in Beaver County, about 35 miles southwest of Milford.

ROY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say an accident at a fireworks show in northern Utah injured 10 people. Fire officials say the spectators at the annual Roy Days festival all escaped with minor injuries after an unexpected sideways fireworks blast just after the show's finale. Roy Fire Chief Jason Poulsen told the Standard-Examiner of Ogden says all 10 victims were treated at the scene and included both children and adults.

PROVO, Utah (AP) — BYU star running back Jamaal Williams has been suspended for the season opener against Connecticut on Aug. 29. The 19-year-old junior says he was suspended because of a combination of a February arrest on suspicion of underage drinking and a July incident that he declined to discuss. BYU's honor code forbids the use of alcohol and illicit drugs.

HURRICANE, Utah (AP) — A family member says the death of an 11-month-old girl after being left in a hot vehicle in southern Utah was a tragic accident that has devastated her mother. Aimee Wright says her sister, April Suwyn, is accepting blame for the death of her daughter, Skyah Suwyn, in Hurricane on Friday, and her pain has been compounded by negative comments on the Internet. Wright told the Deseret News her sister thought she had taken the child into the family home after dropping off her sons at a babysitter and didn't discover her in the back seat until early Friday afternoon.
