SANDY — It's been nearly three weeks since Real Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman tangled with the German national team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Round two will take place in less than a month.

Beckerman was one of two RSL players named to the All-Star Fan XI that will face Bundesliga side Bayern Munich in the 2014 MLS All-Star Game in Portland, the league announced Wednesday. Teammate Nick Rimando will join his Salt Lake and U.S. men's national team teammate in the event, which will be played at the Portland Timbers' Providence Park on Aug. 6. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Beckerman was named to his eighth consecutive MLS All-Star Game roster, while Rimando will represent the league as an all-star for the fourth time in his career.

The Fan XI also features Sporting Kansas City's Matt Besler and Graham Zusi, Seattle Sounders' DeAndre Yedlin, Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins, Toronto FC's Michael Bradley, New York Red Bulls' Thierry Henry, and L.A. Galaxy's Omar Gonzalez and Landon Donovan.

Bayern Munich's roster includes German internationals Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos, Philipp Lahm, Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze, as well as young U.S. international Julian Green.

Timbers and All-Stars coach Caleb Porter will select the game-day roster for the event from a selection of the Fan XI, MLS Commissioner Don Garber's two picks, and any player who receives at least two votes from other players in the league.

The final roster will be revealed July 19. The list of 32 All-Stars, including the 18-man gameday roster, will include four goalkeepers, eight defenders, 13 midfielders and seven forwards.
