(KSL News) -- Utah teens preparing to leave the state's foster care system, received some extra help today from volunteers in Salt Lake.
Volunteers helped put together moving kits today. The kits include pillows, sheets and tool kits for kids turning 18.
Christmas Box International and the Utah Division of Child and Family Services say the kits are part of a program, called "Transition to Adult Living"
Carol Sisco/Utah Dept. of Human Services: "It's a huge effort to say these young people need a little help so that they can get out and lead really good happy lives."
Volunteers created nearly 300 moving kits today for teens in Idaho and Utah. The transition program also includes counseling, affordable rent and state -provided insurance for the teens.
