COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) — Dillon Powers and Vicente Sanchez scored first-half goals and the Colorado Rapids beat Vancouver 2-0 on Saturday night to snap the Whitecaps' team-record undefeated streak at eight games.

In the 20th minute, Marvell Wynne drove toward the end line and found Powers at the top of the box. Powers spun and used his left foot to fire a shot inside the left post past an outstretched David Ousted for his third goal in his last four games.

Sanchez gave Colorado (7-5-4) a 2-0 lead on a penalty kick after Deshorn Brown was tackled in the box by Nigel Reo-Coker. It was the veteran's team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin robbed Johnny Leveron with a diving save of a hard left-footed shot in the 83rd minute to preserve his sixth shutout of the season.

Vancouver dropped to 5-3-7.
