SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Padres interviewed former Miami Marlins executive Larry Beinfest on Friday for their vacant general manager's position.
Beinfest was fired by the Marlins in September after serving as their general manager since 2002. One year after being hired, the Marlins won the World Series. In 2007, Beinfest was elevated to president, baseball operations.
Beinfest also worked for the Seattle Mariners (1991-99) and the Montreal Expos (2000-01).
