SALT LAKE CITY — The Unified Police Metro Gang Unit announced its most recently named public enemy No. 1 on Thursday.

Jacob Drake Vigil, 23, is wanted by police in connection with a gun charge warrant and several felony warrants for alleged discharge of a firearm and robbery.

He has a history of violent gang association and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Vigil’s history includes multistate felony convictions, according to police. Utah court records show he has previously been convicted for weapons violations, burglary of a vehicle, assault and attempted robbery. He has additional arrests on his record for drug-related incidents, according to police.

He is described as a 5-foot-9-inch Hispanic male weighing 135 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, as well as several distinctive tattoos. Police say he has tattoos on his forearms reading “Rose” and “Park,” as well as three dots tattooed on his left hand.

Anyone with information regarding Vigil's whereabouts is asked to call the Metro Gang Unit through Unified Police Department dispatch at 801-743- 7000. Those with information that leads to Vigil’s arrest may be eligible to receive a cash reward.
