MAGNA — Police are looking for three men who attempted to rob a McDonalds via the drive-thru.
Detective Ken Hansen with the Unified Police Department said three Hispanic males — all wearing black and red sport jerseys — drove through the McDonald's drive-thru at 3540 South 8400 West in Magna on Thursday at about 5:37 p.m.
"When it came time to pay, it basically turned into an attempted robbery," Hansen said.
One occupant displayed a .357 Magnum gun and demanded cash. The window attendant backed away and the man fired a single shot through the window. The bullet hit the freezer.
No one was injured and no cash was taken, Hansen said.
UPD tweeted that the men were in a white "2007 Hyundai Sonata with a dent in the front bumper area." Hansen said they also have a partial license plate number and that the car may be a stolen vehicle out of West Valley City.
"We're looking forward to looking at the surveillance video when it becomes available," Hansen said. "Even though we hear about robberies just about every day, it's very, very seldom we hear about a drive-thru robbery."
