MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — Tobacco use soon will be prohibited at University Healthcare Berkeley Medical Center's campuses.
A new clean air regulation approved by the Berkeley County Health Department bans all tobacco use on medical and health facilities' properties in the county. The ban includes e-cigarettes.
The regulation goes into effect July 1.
University Healthcare spokeswoman Teresa McCabe says in a news release that the regional health system supports the health department's tobacco-free campus initiative.
McCabe says Jefferson Medical Center in Jefferson County also will go tobacco-free later this summer.
