SALT LAKE CITY — Police are asking for help to identify a man who recently stole a guitar.
Surveillance video shows a man riding a mountain bike past Penna Powers Brian Haynes, a marketing agency on 1706 S. Major St., before turning back and entering the business at about 3:30 p.m. on June 16, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
The man took a Fender Squier guitar in its soft black case from the office, police said. The guitar was described as being red with white pickups, a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. It also has a red and black sticker with the phrase “Hurst Shifters” on it.
“An employee saw the suspect exiting the business and gave chase without success,” a statement from the police department reads.
Investigators described the thief as being a white man between the ages of 25 and 35 years old who was wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt, dark shorts, dark tennis shorts and a backwards baseball hat.
