LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas woman is expected to face felony charges for allegedly throwing her baby, her toddler and herself out a second-story window. A police report made public today identifies 34-year-old Luz Robledo Ibarra as the woman hospitalized following the pre-dawn incident June 12 at a northeast Las Vegas home. Both children were also critically injured.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Watch what you drink at downtown Las Vegas' Fremont Street Experience. Starting Sunday, the city is banning aluminum cans and glass bottles. It's an effort to clear out people who get drunk on cheap alcohol from convenience stores, rather than buy more expensive booze for casinos and restaurants. Violators could be fined up to $500.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — In response to pleas from historic preservationists, University of Nevada, Reno officials have dropped a proposal to demolish a pair of residence halls built more than a century ago. UNR President Marc Johnson says Lincoln and Manzanita halls will instead be preserved and other uses will be found for the buildings.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 40-year-old man who was fatally shot at a gas station about a mile west of the Las Vegas Strip. Clark County coroner's officials say Santiago Spicer Flanders died at University Medical Center after being shot Tuesday night. Police are seeking two suspects who fled from the scene in a tan, four-door sedan.
