NEW YORK (AP) — Fashion Alert easily captured her debut at the $100,000 Astoria Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Belmont Park on Saturday.

Hustled to the front shortly after the start, Fashion Alert pulled clear rounding the turn. The Todd Pletcher trainee rolled home a 4 3-4 length winner over Liatris, the 8-5 favorite.

"We're off to a good start with our 2-year-olds," Pletcher said. "We've run three so far with two wins, and a third. It looks like a quality crop."

The time was 1:04.01 for the 5 1-2 furlongs on the fast track.

Fashion Alert paid $5.70, $3.20 and $2.40 as the 9-5 second choice. Liatris returned $2.80 and $2.10 while Lindy paid $2.50 to show.
