RENO, Nev. (AP) — A collision involving three motorcycles on State Route 341 near Reno killed two people and injured three others.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says a preliminary investigation shows one motorcycle was heading down Geiger Grade from Virginia City to Reno and the other two were going the opposite direction when the wreck occurred Saturday morning.
Troopers say one motorcycle crossed the center line to trigger the accident.
The drivers of the two motorcycles heading from Reno to Virginia City died at the scene and their female passengers were taken to the hospital as was the driver of the other motorcycle. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
Troopers say all five were wearing helmets.
Their names were not immediately released.
